I am very thankful for the customer service I have received so far from David and Valerie at Republic at Alamo Heights. They have been friendly and proactive as they processed my application, lease and all the move-in nuances. Everything moved along very quickly with detailed instructions and move-in orientation. I had no issues on move-in date with parking and elevators and so far everyone in the community has been very nice.
The apartment itself is very well lit, the layout is practical, and it is well insulated. I hear nothing from the pool or the hallways… I do hear footsteps from above tenant and wish they were more considerate but can’t even tell if I have neighbors next door. I’ve had no issues with the keyless method, even during the move when I was locking and unlocking the door through the virtual hub.
I wish neighbors would be better at following the easy and common sense instructions for the valet trash. Realistically, that’s not quite in the administration’s hands, it’s on each of us being considerate of a sense of community.
I really like the concept of a lounge / resort pool and a separate lap pool. The gym is reasonable for an apartment complex, has the basics, considering the price we’re paying here. Thanks to the location, we have options.
Which brings me to location… incredible variety of options for dining , quick shopping needs and a skip and a hop to the Pearl and museums. This place has been a great value so far and I look forward to further exploring the area.
Thank you David and Valerie for all of your help!
My experience here has been nothing short of amazing. The previous staff was ok at best but David has mastered the art of customer service and really makes your feel right at home. My lease is coming up to renew and I have no plans of leaving! This place is great! If you want luxury and exceptional customer service, look no further!
Republic at Alamo heights is a hit or miss. I have been living here since 2021 and when I first came into our apartment it looked nothing like the pictures, floors were scratched, paint is still on my floor the bathroom mirror borders are super scratched and beat up, the paint didn’t match the walls, some of the cabinets are peeling the wood it got laminated with and were broken, my fridge barley shuts i have to slam it… i have put in a request in the past for it because it also made my food freeze even if it was in the middle setting…. They just said i had to make sure it was shut like I pay 1800 dollars for rent and y’all can’t replace my fridge??? And my washer broke down at least twice and no matter how much I clean it there is mold inside I don’t even bother putting in requests anymore Bcs they just sweep it under the rug when I first got here the whole apartment was dirty, pubes were in my fridge it was disgusting! My mother in law had to clean my entire apartment. Yesterday my house was almost broken into in broad daylight he tried opening my door three times with my husband and infant being home he even waited to see if we opened the door and pretended he left when the entire time he was next to my door. He also tried it with my other neighbors across the hall and stated he was “maintenance”. The apartment needs security established just the same way they strictly established towing for unpermitted parking which clearly that’s most important than safety because they tow cars like crazy. The apartments has had 3 different managements already since I’ve been here. Gate is always broken. When it comes down to customer service David is the person to go to in the office. He’s very attentive and helpful when it comes down to any concerns. Like I said the republic is a hit or miss. after this incident I definitely do not feel safe. Every single time I come out I look through my peep hole now even if it’s only been a day from the incident but I have become so paranoid and I feel like I am not safe in my own home.
UPDATE: THIS GUY IS AFTER WOMEN HE HAS ATTACKED 2 RESIDENTS IN THIS APARTMENT COMPLEX.
I have lived in Alamo Heights for 4 years and recently received a $600 bill from them. I informed them that I always paid on time and asked them to work with me since I understood that I didn't have to pay anything for damages and cleaning since everything was in order. Additionally, the location has issues with homelessness and security.
My experience living in Alamo Heights for the past 4 years has been quite disappointing. Recently, I received a $600 bill from the management of the complex, which took me by surprise as I have always paid my rent on time.
I immediately contacted Alamo Heights to address this issue. I mentioned that I didn't understand why I had to pay an additional amount for damages and cleaning, as I left my apartment in perfect condition when I moved out. I asked them to work with me to find a fair solution, but unfortunately, they showed no interest in listening to me or investigating the matter.
In addition to this unfortunate situation, another major problem I faced while living in Alamo Heights was the growing presence of homeless individuals in the area. I often encountered homeless people around the complex, which created a sense of insecurity and discomfort. Although I understand that this is a situation beyond the control of the complex, I expected them to take measures to ensure the safety of the residents.
Overall, my experience living in Alamo Heights has been quite negative. The treatment I received and the lack of attention to my economic concerns, combined with the security issues caused by the presence of homeless people, have left a unfavorable impression of this place.
I cannot recommend Alamo Heights as a housing option, as my personal experience has not been satisfactory. I feel that my rights as a tenant were not respected and that not enough was done to address the security issues in the area.
Very expensive for what they allow you to do.
They tow any car that doesn’t have sticker when there is a ton of parking and you pay 2k for rent.
Staff is nice but when you don’t follow a rule they are rude. And don’t really know much. The apartments are cheap and not taken care of. When someone moves out they take the cheapest way to fix something and then it looks worse than before. Owner is a tool. To many rules here makes you feel like a prison not a home. The parking covers are 45 a month when they don’t even have garages. The gate is always broken and/or open all day everyday and night! What’s the point of a gated community. Security gaurd is a nice guy, very attentive but doesn’t do anything or say anything if someone comes in. There have been multiple cats stolen off peoples cars.
The hallways are AC!! That’s why you pay so much cus they waste so much money on the hallways to stay 3 dagrees cooler then outside which to me is a waste of money and they should change that and just cut the rent down. This place is asking way too much money for rent and not letting you have any freedom. Always feels like you’re being watched or have rules on you can’t do anything.
So glad to moving out and regret ever giving these people money. If you want to move out it’s almost 5 grand to op out of a lease. It’s absolutely stupid. Don’t rent here.
In my opinion, this is a really good place to live. Lots of amenities like a well equipped gym, super staff, great floor plans, and top appliances. I feel safe here. Most of the community is really friendly.
Hey, it's 6 months later and the husband and I are still very happy in our new home.
Great staff, competent maintenance.
Through all the summer heat, it has been easy to stay cool!
Girlfriend has Asthma. Horrible weed smell in our apartment and in the pool area. Management refuses to send a letter to residents and told me to call police. Called the police and said they can't do anything if they don't know where it …
thank you Kadijah for helping me out in the store and telling me all about your apartments. I do have a family member moving to the area I will let her know about your location and how kind you were. …
